From 2001-2013 Marhaug was a professor at Bergen Academy of Art and Design (now Faculty of Art, Music and Design, University of Bergen). She has conducted numerous workshops and courses in printmaking, bookbinding and performance for schools and artist groups.

Marhaug serves regularly as a peer reviewer for Oslo National Academy of the Arts and FAMD, University of Bergen.
Marhaug is a member of the Norwegian National Jury of Scholarships from 2017-2019.
Marhaug heads the Trykkeriet Centre for Contemporary Printmaking in Bergen and is Artistic Director of Performance Art Bergen.
